As Cocoa Beach photographers we understand how important it is to wear something fun and vibrant for your beach photography session. Being photographers in Cocoa Beach, we understand that whether your coming from Orlando or coming off a Port Canaveral cruise, you want amazing photos. Most of our family photography and couple's sessions are done at sunset. So, consider the backdrop color of the Florida beach sunset. You will see the lovely tones of peach, blue, purple, pink, and yellow. These same gentle hues can look stunning in a family shot if they line up in the sky. Put dad in a button-up shirt that is light blue and roll the sleeves to match the Florida ocean. Mom can accessorize with a white ribbon belt and a peach sundress. Siblings look adorable in a light pink outfit with little flowers and little ones look fantastic in a light green polo shirt and khaki cargo shorts. Each person will have their own unique style, because the way the colors complement each other.
Blue looks stunning on the beach no matter what. Instruct the family to choose a blue outfit for the photo shoot. One of those colors where the various tones work well together is blue. Furthermore, letting everyone choose their own attire will make the session more fun for everyone. Allow the men to wear their beloved button-up shirts. Don't be afraid to rock an aqua sundress, a polo shirt with stripes of navy and white, a blue blouse adorned with little pink flowers, or a white and blue checkered button-up shirt. It will have an amazing appearance. To finish the ensemble, pair it all with neutral shorts or pants.
Dressing the family in black will give some informal beach photos a more official touch, even if they are wearing a black knit sundress. For a breezy, summery vibe, consider summer dresses or short sleeves for the ladies and shorts or rolled-up pants for the men. Always wear your feet naked in photos and use colorful accessories. Colorful flower pins or striking necklaces create great pops of color.
In beach images, vibrant hues like red, white, and blue from summer or teal, sunshine yellow and tangerine create a statement. These more vibrant hues shout fireworks, sunshine and great summertime fun. These hues have a narrative all their own. They bring out seasonal fun in the images. Avoid neon and busy patterns that may clash with others. It is recommended to use solids or color blocks. Use tone-on-tone patterns and texture to liven up plain colored shirts. Avoid combining these striking hues with paler hues. The pale pink will be overshadowed by a vivid red shirt.
Pink is often overlooked for beach pictures, but really is a gorgeous complement to the surroundings. Men, women, girls and boys all look beautiful in this preppy color. A pink woven belt with green shorts and a white shirt would look great on dad. A pink sundress for the girls and a salmon colored skirt with white t-shirt will look beautiful on mom. Pink and blue plaid shorts and a matching polo will look dashing on the boys. Together the look is fresh and light and beachy.
